Travel Details
DAY BY DAY UROS- AMANTANI-TAQUILE 2 DAYS/1 NIGHTS
Day 1 |Puno-Lake Titicaca-Uros-Amantani.
This trip start at 7:45 am with the transfer from your hotel to the port of Puno, where you will take the motor boat and also meet the tour guide, the first stop will be on the Uros floating islands, there are more than 50 floating islands but you will visit just two of them, on the first floating island the guide will explain about the people who live in the floating islands and after you will have some free time to walk around, to take some pictures, also to talk with the families, this visit normally last, one and a half hours.
After this visit you will have a three hour boat ride to Amantani Island where you will spend the night with a local family, At the port of Amantani you will meet the families and they will take you to their houses to have a delicious lunch with them, also they will be in charge to take you to the meeting point for the optional hike in the afternoon to enjoy the sunset from the highest point of the island which is at 4150 m.a.s.l. 13600 feet.
In the evening after dinner the families will organize a local party for you and they will provide you the traditional dress to enjoy the party, and this activity is also “optional”.
Day 2 | Amantani-Taquile-Puno.
The next day you will have an early breakfast with the family, and after this you will have a one hour boat ride to Taquile island, people who are very famous because they are considered “the best weavers of Peru” It is necessary to go up a stairway of more than 567 steps-streaks of stone that wind their way among greenery platforms to arrive at the Town of Taquile. on the island you will have a beautiful view of the lake, during this hike you will stop to visit the town square of Taquile to visit the handicraft shops and see the weaving, the square is also the highest point of the hike 3950 m.a.s.l. 12960 feet. After your free time in the square you will stop to visit a local family home where you will learn a little bit of Taquile island and it’s people Then you will finish the hike going to the second port of the island, where you will take again the motor boat to come back finishing the tour at 3:30 pm approximately.
Day 3 | Puno-Juliaca Airport
Breakfast at the hotel. A transportation service takes you from the selected hotel to the airport. Assistance of a representative you during the journey.
